Marketing
Organizations seeking to use Georgia Tech’s name and trademarks for promotion or event content, must obtain written permission. All items bearing the name and trademarks of Georgia Institute of Technology, including fundraising items, must be licensed.
1. Can I use GA Tech's name or logo on my website/shirts/handouts ?
If your program content is not directly delivered by Georgia Tech, and the Institute’s role is simply as the host for the event, please adhere to the following guidelines when referencing Georgia Tech in your communications:
-
Correct Reference: Georgia Tech should only be mentioned in a locational sense—this means you can mention the campus as the event location, but avoid using the Georgia Tech logo or implying that the Institute is directly responsible for the program.
-
Correct Example: “(Your Organization’s Name) Conference or Summer Camp hosted at Georgia Tech.”
-
Incorrect Example: “Georgia Tech (Your Organization’s Name) Summer Camp starts August 2.”
Key Takeaways:
-
Georgia Tech’s name should only be used to indicate the event’s location.
-
No use of Georgia Tech’s logo unless officially approved.(see email address below)
-
The Institute should not be implied as the organizer of the event.
Groups working with Conference Services are strongly encouraged to include the following on all marketing materials for their event: “This program is in no way sponsored by Georgia Institute of Technology, The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, or any other affiliated organization. [Program/Event name] is managed solely by [Organization/Company name].”
If your group is hosted by GA Tech, you may request branding to approve @ gtbrand@gatech.edu
2. How can I get a design approved?
If you have a marketing design you’d like approved, please email gtbrand@gatech.edu and let them know you are hosting with conference services. This process can take up to 3 weeks.
