Campus Recreation Center

Leadership Challenge Course

The Campus Recreation Center, commonly abbreviated “CRC,” is a 300,659 sq. ft. facility that was completed in August 2004. Located off of Ferst Drive on the West side of campus, this state of the art facility is a unique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue built for the 1996 Olympic Games.

The CRC’s five floors contain:

* Competition swimming pool
* Leisure pool with 184 ft. water slide
* Diving well
* Sauna
* Indoor track
* Studio workout rooms
* Racquetball & squash courts
* Basketball courts
* Volleyball courts
* Rock climbing wall

In addition, the CRC also includes a state-of-the-art fitness center complete with weight machines, stationary bikes, elliptical machines, rowers, and stairclimbers.

The Leadership Challenge Course is custom-designed with a unique structure, innovative technology, and outcome-based programs. It will endow users with powerful learning experiences, taking them outside of their comfort zones with custom workshop topics created to maximize learning outcomes while providing a unique adventure. The courses are designed for intact groups ranging in size from eight to 150 or more. Complete with three towers, each forty feet tall, this doubledecker design has two cargo net entry points, four hydraulic zip line exit points, and a dozen elements to discover, solve, and cross. The course utilizes the campus-wide wireless network; online polling and data collection; communication via instant messaging, email, and video conference; and GPS navigation.

Tech Rec

Roe Stamps Fields

Tech Rec is located inside the newly renovated John Lewis Student Center and is designed for fun and games! Tech Rec has bowling lanes, billiards tables, foosball and ping pong tables, and a board game lounge and outdoor patio.

The Roe Stamps fields are adjacent to the Campus Recreation Center. The versatile fields can be used for four flag football fields, two soccer fields, or two softball fields. Additionally, there are two sand volleyball courts beside the field.

Tyler Brown Pi Mile

Couch Park

The Tyler Brown Pi Mile is a 3.14 mile running trail on the Georgia Tech campus. There are four starting points on campus (east, west, north, and south) and diamond-shaped markers and maps along the way to keep walkers and runners on the trail. The sidewalk in front of the Campus Recreation Center is one of the starting points.

Couch Park can be found between Sixth Street and Eighth Street, bordering Ferst Drive. Couch Park is the home of the Leadership Challenge Course, and is used for rugby, baseball, soccer, frisbee, lounging, studying and summer camps.
