Summer Student Employee

Each summer, Georgia Tech Conference Services delivers an outstanding experience for thousands of guests, including camps, conferences, and long-term interns. As part of our team, you’ll help ensure every detail of their stay runs smoothly—from welcoming guests and providing ongoing support to managing behind-the-scenes operations.

Your responsibilities may include coordinating building operations and maintenance requests, assisting with emergency response, and supporting linen and housekeeping services. You’ll also act as a campus liaison, helping guests access parking, dining plans, and recreation facilities.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll gain valuable experience in event logistics, customer service, and problem-solving while working in a fast-paced environment. The skills you develop—such as communication, teamwork, and operational management—are highly transferable and will strengthen your professional portfolio for future careers in hospitality, event planning, or business operations.

 

 

Student Positions

Conference Assistants

Positions avaliable: Part-time up to 20 hours a week, full-time up to 40 hours a week.

Pay: $12.00, hourly

Full‑time employees in this role may take up to 5 academic credit hours and are provided complimentary on‑campus apartment housing as part of their employment.

 

Summary of Role

No day is the same! Responsibilities include checking buildings for issues, facilitating camper check-ins, providing excellent customer service, delivering and picking up supplies, answering phones, and assisting at the front desk. This position requires participation in a rotation of on-call overnight shifts.

 

 

Seeking

20–25 summer staff members with flexible availability from May 9 to August 5. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy meeting new people, jumping in to help, and adapting to different situations. This role involves customer service and physical activity, so energy and a positive attitude are essential. Join us for a fun, dynamic summer experience! Drivers are a plus.

 

 

Logistics or Facilities Specialists

Position avaliable: Full-time up to 40 hours a week.

Pay: $14.00, hourly

Full‑time employees in this role may take up to 5 academic credit hours and are provided complimentary on‑campus apartment housing as part of their employment.

 

Summary of Role

Specialist roles are leadership positions that combine teamwork, project management, and physical activity. In these roles, you will guide a team while managing multiple operational priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Key duties include signage placement, check‑in set‑ups, conducting building checks, coordinating linen orders and drops, and working closely with the Fire Marshal and other campus partners. Specialists are responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish while ensuring safety, efficiency, and a positive guest experience.

This position also requires participation in a rotation of on-call overnight shifts.

Seeking

4–5 full‑time employees who enjoy organizing complex puzzles, managing details, and staying active throughout the workday. Ideal candidates thrive in fast‑paced environments, take initiative, and enjoy leading projects that require both strategic thinking and hands‑on execution. Must have flexible availability from May 9 to August 5.

 

 

Intern-Logistics and Management

Position avaliable: Full-time up to 40 hours a week.

Pay: $17.00, hourly

Full‑time employees in this role are provided complimentary on‑campus apartment housing as part of their employment.

 

 

Intern-Logistics and Management

 Our Interns are the highest‑level student roles and are designed to support students preparing for their careers in technical and professional fields, including computer science and biomedical engineering. Working closely with professional staff as a key operational partner, the intern gains direct experience supporting complex systems, coordinating multiple workflows, and executing large‑scale events in a real‑world environment.

This role blends strategic planning with hands‑on operational work similar to the Logistics and Facilities Specialist, including event setups, signage, building checks, and coordination of facility and linen services. Through close mentorship and daily problem‑solving, the intern builds transferable skills in systems thinking, process improvement, project management, communication, and data‑informed decision‑making—skills that translate directly to careers in technology, engineering, operations, healthcare systems, and research environments.

 

 

 

 

Seeking

 8-9 high‑performing student leaders who are preparing for their career. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with complex systems, logistics, and details, and can translate planning into execution in a fast‑paced environment.

This student should be:

  • Comfortable working closely with professional staff as a trusted right‑hand partner
  • Strong in organization, problem‑solving, and systems thinking
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and support event logistics and operations
  • Willing to engage in hands‑on, physical work (setups, building checks, signage, facility coordination)
  • Confident leading projects, communicating clearly, and supporting team coordination

This role is ideal for a student who wants real‑world, applied experience that complements a technical or engineering academic background and prepares them for careers in operations, technology, healthcare systems, research, or business environments. Must have flexible availability from May 9 to August 5 and not be enrolled in classes. An overnight on call rotation is required.
