2023 Student Spotlight: Emily Winder

The Office of Conference Services congratulates graduating student staff member, Emily Winder.

Caps Off to Our Graduates

The Office of Conference Services would like to recognize the seniors on our staff, not only for their hard work, dedication and contribution to our efforts but also for their academic accomplishment. You have studied throughout the night; worked on countless papers and projects; sweated over exams; laughed, cried and everything in between. To this we say congratulations and a hearty thank you! You made it! You are a Georgia Institute of Technology graduate!

We celebrate you and appreciate everything you have contributed to make our office a success. We hope your time working with us has been as beneficial to you as it has been to us. We wish you health, happiness, blessings and every good thing.

Graduating Student Staff Member

Emily Winder

Major: Literature, Media, and Communication

What I learned working with conference services: Conference Services taught me how to assess a problem from every angle and quickly find a solution that benefits our guests and also upholds the values of the department. Sometimes a timely solution is more effective than the “best” or most creative solution and being able to distinguish when to act and when to take time to problem solve is a valuable skill to have.

Other Involvement at Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech Marching Band, Undergraduate Research Assistant, GT Mentorship Programs, Ultimate Frisbee

Favorite Georgia Tech Memory: Any time spent with the GT Marching Band, but my favorite memory is being a freshman in the band for the Miracle on Techwood Drive.

Advice to Incoming First-Year Students: Get involved on campus. Having a community outside of the classroom and ways to decompress will help you to stay motivated and will also create relationships that will last a lifetime.
